Fall Update

A lot to catch up on. Brannon recently joined The Travel Channel as a full-time editor. Jason has been working on Industrials for Proctor & Gamble and CFA Institute as well as the indie film "Pyrometheus".

Not to mention, Jason and his wife welcomed a new beautiful baby boy, Quinn. Brannon and his wife welcomed a new adopted puppy, Sooey. She's a sweet Blue Heeler (yep, the same type of dog as the pup in Mad Max). We can neither confirm nor deny the rumor that baby Quinn may be going as Quato for Halloween.

Take 29 will be starting a few new projects this winter with writers Christopher Combs and Trevor Przyuski as well as the Filmmakers Republik.  And coming very soon "ROTHON"!!!!

"The Walking Dead" Tribute

"The Walking Dead" Tribute from bshiflett on Vimeo.

I bought the first issue of Robert Kirkman’s “The Walking Dead” as a blind buy and, like many who have read it, was instantly hooked and could not get enough.  As time went on I thought, “How great would it be if this were TV series?!”, and this tribute was born.  Rather than translate one issue I decided to put together a “trailer” of what my vision of the series would look/feel like.  The opening scene is something I wrote to give the Zombie’s some face time, but with the montage I wanted to focus on some key scenes fans would recognize.  I also chose to use scenes with the characters not involving the zombies because the story really is about the living. We hope you enjoy.

Filmmakers Republic

Jason put in 30 hours over the weekend as part of a Filmmakers Republic effort to get a whole feature shot in one weekend.  The project began Saturday morning at 7am and successfully wrapped at 1am Monday morning.  For those interested the title of the feature is, "Danger. Zombies. Run.". In other Take 29 news we will resume filming on our surprise zombie project on May 15 and 16!

Spring Update

The post-production of Rothon took a bit longer than we expected so the release has been a bit delayed. It is dangerously closed to finished though. The score has just been completed and has been sent to the sound mixer. There is one more complicated vfx shot that is still being worked on and then we are a go. Updates on that soon of course.

A rough cut for Jason's untitled zombie project has been completed. More shoots days and editing ahead for that one. Jason is also DP on a feature shoot this very weekend filming on a RED camera as well as some 5D and 7D DSLR's for B cameras.

As Rothon nears completion, I am finalizing story details for my upcoming feature script. This is a project I have been thinking about for several years and it's very exciting to finally begin to put it into motion. I cannot wait to tell you more about it!

Zombies!

Take 29 is hard at work on the next project as we put the finishing touches on Rothon.  We are not releasing the title of the next project yet, but I will say it has plenty of flesh-eating Zombies!!  Check out our newest gallery to see some production photos as well as some great beginning/middle/end shots of the zombies as they were made up by Coven Delacruz of Condemned Productions.  More details coming soon on this project……

Brains please...
